Emirates Post Group launches e-Dirham card services

Dec 10 2017

The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Emirates Post Group have launched the e-Dirham card service that will enable customers to buy, load, and reload e-Dirham cards across Emirates Post offices in the UAE. The move is expected to ease and expand the use of e-Dirham which is a fully integrated electronic payment and revenue collection developed by MoF in partnership with First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).

This service will be provided at over 118 Emirates Post offices in the country except in Das Island, Abu Dhabi. The e-Dirham system is the official electronic payment platform that facilitates the collection of revenues and service fees of governmental and semi-governmental institutions. It is a cashless payment system that adopts efficient, secure, state-of-the-art and world-class technologies.

The e-Dirham cards available for sale are the blue card at AED 12, and the red card at AED 6. The loading service is available for all categories of e-Dirham cards, and is free of charge for the first transaction. Also, reloading is available for the blue, red, gold, green and silver e-Dirham cards with a minimum fee of AED 4 per card.

H.E. Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of MoF, said: "The Ministry of Finance is committed to partnering with various entities, ministries and government authorities in the country to offer the highest standard and the most suitable services that will cater the needs of the customers. This collaboration with Emirates Post Group is a significant step to strengthen the services offered to the public and to facilitate their transactions more effectively and efficiently."
