Here’s where you can enjoy the National Day celebrations

The long weekend is almost here and if you are not so lucky enough to head outside the city to enjoy the holidays, don’t lose heart. Dubai will be buzzing with loads of activities and celebrations all the three days. We have narrowed down few places around where you can experience the city’s vibrant festivities and enjoy with thoroughly with your family and friends.

Dubai Parks and Resorts

Each of the theme parks with Dubai Parks and Resort will embrace the spirit of UAE National Day its own unique way. MOTIONGATE Dubai will be transformed with celebratory decorations inspired the UAE flag colours. LEGOLAND Dubai will invite guests to help build a UAE LEGO mosaic to celebrate the occasion. BOLLYWOOD PARKS Dubai will have traditional music and dance shows and two performances of Bollywood spectacular, Jaan-e-Jigar on 2nd December for families to enjoy together. Riverland Dubai will transform into an entertainment hub from Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd December from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm daily, with a specially curated schedule of interactive roaming acts, UAE flag themed décor, traditional crafts provided by Dubai Culture, falconry displays, camel rides, traditional coffee and sweets, an interactive storytelling section and kids’ workshops including face painting, national arts & crafts and Henna artists.


BurJuman will witness the return of their patriotic VW Beetle, decorated in the UAE colours which will be on display in the main atrium. Visitors will also find themed photo opportunities around the Mall, including the revamped BurJuman letters. The mall will also feature a vertical display of 1,000 camel plushies in the Main Atrium. Over the National Day weekend, 29th November to 2nd December, each evening from 5 pm to 10 pm, visit the UAE-themed tent in the Main Atrium, where you will be treated to the best Emirati hospitality with complimentary Arabic coffee, dates and the chance to try the traditional art of henna painting.

Wafi Mall

The National Day attractions at the mall will feature cultural and traditional activities, a flag hunt for children, the conclusion of the month-long ‘A Hand for the Nation’ campaign and a brand-new Light and Sound Show. Wafi Mall will showcase henna artists, falcon display, traditional sweets, Arabic coffee, and live art. The events will run from 2 pm on both days of the National Day weekend. Visitors can also enjoy an engaging orchestra presentation on 2nd December.

City Walk

Between 29th November and 4th December, City Walk will be pulling out all the stops and transforming into a buzzing hub of culture in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development. The festive ambience will be enriched by numerous activities for the whole family ranging from local dance groups and parades across City Walk, a heritage village, children’s workshops, live stage performances in Multaqa Al Adwa, art booths featuring live painters, traditional pavilions from 16 different countries showcasing their culture and so much more. On December 1, a special parade will be hosted with the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia which will see 10 super modified cars all the way from the Kingdom, 10 horses and Knights and over 500 students walking through City Walk between 4 pm and 5 pm. And if you’re into flashy cars, you can’t miss the amazing procession by Super Car Arabia who will be parading their fleet of over 30 supercars such through Massar Al Ibtikar, City Walk’s newest extension, from 6 pm till 9 pm.

Yas Island

Yas Marina Circuit and Yas Island will be awash with a sea of red, green, white and black for this year’s National Day Colours celebration on Saturday, 2nd December. Yas Marina Circuit will play host to activities for the whole family to enjoy as over 10,000 expatriates and Emiratis from Abu Dhabi and across the Emirates join in the festivities to celebrate the 46th UAE National Day. Held at Yas Marina Circuit’s North Grandstand and the North Oasis, the National Day Colours celebration will take place from 2 pm to 9pm, with activities for guests of all ages. A highlight of the celebrations will be a spectacular firework display (9 pm) that will light up the night sky above the world famous Circuit.

Fireworks at various locations

Watching fireworks on National Day is a popular ritual among tourists and residents. Like every year, people can gaze extra-ordinary firework display across several spots around the city. Some of the popular venues include La Mer, Global Village, Dubai Festival City, The Beach JBR and Yas Island.
