Students’ Karting Cup to kick-off in 2018

Dec 14 2017

The 3rd edition of the Student Karting Cup tournament will kick-off in 2018 at the internationally certified Al Ain Raceway Kart Circuit. The F1 styled event will begin on January 26 with the final race ending on February 16.

With an aim to introduce the motorsport discipline and fundamentals to aspiring racers and newcomers, the championship is managed by TwoTone Events. The Championship will hold 3 qualifying rounds and a final round; eliminating participants in every round. Participants will be divided into the age groups of 12-15; 16-19 and, 20-23. In addition, music bands from schools and colleges across UAE will compete against each other in the battle of bands.

“Today, students need to be stimulated and challenged. This is how SKC came into being. While football and other sports remain popular, speed does have its thrills, and which teenager or young adult doesn’t like to get behind a pair of wheels? Moreover, karting teaches them various disciplines,” said Sandhya Unni, Director of TwoTone Events. “Last year we saw over 200 eager students keen to participate, and over 1000 people watching the aspiring racers. We are hoping to cross that number this time, “added Sandhya.
