Relive the magic of the last dinner served on the Titanic at Shangri-La Hotel, AUH

Bord Eau, the restaurant in Abu Dhabi nestled within the main lobby of Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, will restore the legacy of fine dining by presenting a lavish 10-course menu originally served to the first-class passengers aboard the Titanic on 14 April 1912 on April 14 and 15, 2017.

This will be the second year that the five-star property will be hosting the lavish dining experience, following its huge success in 2016 when tables sold out in less than three hours that they had to host it for a second night. History has repeated itself this year, and the dinner will be hosted on Friday April 14 and Saturday April 15 from 6.30pm. Tourists and residents in the capital are invited to savour the 10-course meal with wine pairing following a welcome service of canapes and champagne for AED 496*.

Bord Eau’s opulent dining room will be transformed into the Titanic’s first-class cabin, with two-Michelin-star Executive Chef Mansour Memarian creating a symphony of flavours that will transport diners back to the Edwardian era of haute cuisine. Guests, who are encouraged to dress elegantly, will be entertained by jazz favourites across the decades.

Back in 1912, the Titanic’s first-class passengers paid for the ocean voyage’s privately hosted and opulent feast an equivalent of US$124,000 in today’s currency. Unbeknownst to them, they would face tragedy hours after, with only a few survivors to tell the tale of their last glorious meal.
